One power socket in the room? That's laughable!!! Minor noise from neighboring rooms could drive someone crazy. A toaster that doesn't actually toast is just disappointing!!! Better communication on parking guidelines wouldn't hurt too!!!

Carlos v Malaga is a small hotel which offers exactly what it advertises; a simple, clean, good priced room right in the heart of the old town. I stayed in some other small hotels in different cities of Spain, this one is probably one of the best with it's friendly, English speaking staff. I stayed in a good sized single room with a nice bathroom. As my room was facing to a space between buildings, it was silent, especially important if you are staying during the weekend. I didn't really mind not having a view because when you're in Malaga it doesn't make much sense to spend your days inside. There is a cafe right across the hotel, so breakfast is really no problem at all. Free WiFi in the rooms is something I always appreciate.
Nothing has happened to my mobile phone, camera or to the cash I had to leave in the room but it would have been nice to have a safe anyway. There was no reception on my mobile phone inside the building but I am not sure the hotel has anything to do with that. Inside the shower, there is not a single flat surface for a shampoo bottle or soap to stand on. If there was, showering would have been much more practical.

Pleasant staff; early check in.

The front desk service is efficient and helpful, making the check-in process easy.
The flimsy shower curtains didn't contain the water, leading to a wet ensuite floor after every shower.

Would recommend for a holiday
Clean room, helpful staff, and a convenient location made my stay enjoyable, especially with the nearby private parking and easy access to great restaurants within a short walk.
Everything was fantastic.

The staff were lovely . The situation was excellent.
We felt that a fridge was essential in the climate. A place to keep drinks cold. We didn't feel the need for a television so the fridge could have replaced that. We thought that a double room meant a double bed and the twin ones slid all over the place !! No matter!

The location was excellent (very close to the cathedral and all the main sights) and the hotel offered good value for money. I would stay there again.
The walls between the rooms are a bit thin so sometimes you can hear the people in adjoining rooms.

Malaga vibes and tapas 🇪🇸
Location is just the best-right in the heart of all the action! Chommies at reception were super friendly, always ready to help. The room was clean and had good aircon, really made those hot days bearable!
Only downside was the noise from other guests, a bit of a bliksem sometimes.

Excellent location for all city centre sites (Cathedral, museums, castle, gardens, shopping - beach accessible but not quite so close) - very clean - staff very professional. Hard to get better value for money. WiFi worked perfectly (unlike for other reviewers).
Nothing - perfect for us.

The hotel is much improved from when we last visited 2-3 years ago, when it was in need of a refurb. The AirCon. worked, the beds were comfy. The upper rooms are brighter than the lower ones.
It was fine for an overnight stay, probably wouldn't want to stay longer as the rooms are not large.

The appartment was more than appropriate. However, the staff was entirely friendly, I spoke spanish with them - hence you might face some challenges to communicate with them in english.
However, ask for a room with view to the street, otherwise you could get a room like I had with an outlook to a wall.
